Personalising a piece of jewellery or customising what we
own provides a new sense of luxury that fits the modern consumer. These are ways to
make us stand out from the crowd.
Artisans and creative experts at Swarovski lately
demonstrated an interesting technique to personalise their latest new
stones and turned them into a unique pieces of jewellery, which we can do ourselves.
You will need photo-initiated-curing
adhesives or glue and a UV torch. The Delo Photobond is one such glue which cures quickly at room temperature by exposure to UV light and/or visible light.
Take a Swarovski crystal pendant (available from their Create Your Style website) and gather a tray of small loose crystals. Appy the photo-bond glue on areas of the crystal pendant where you wish to add sparkle, then apply the loose crystals. Use tweezers if necessary.
Then use a UV torch to shine on the enhanced areas of the crystal pendant.
Within minutes, the loose crystals are firmly attached to the stone and voila, your own unique Swarovksi crystal pendant is created with your personalised touch.
Tie a leather string to turn it into a cutting edge necklace to add oomph to any outfits. The same can be done with crystal stones of any shape and colour, like these jewellery examples below, or even to any other glass objects, like customising the base of a champagne glass or even a mirror. The results can only be limited by your imagination.
